A sandbank in paradise.

The only drawback with this tiny sand island is that too many boat trips go there. Find an excursion (such as Blue Lagoon) which goes to a different site.

Sand mining and storms have been degrading this sand island in the lagoon and there isn't much left. The mature coconuts are gone and the newly planted ones are still tiny. While the cabins have mostly fallen into the sea. Despite all those sad facts, it is a charming place to visit and snorkel around.

Lame snorkeling, but if it's on the way drop anchor and have a beer and a quick dip. Don't waste your time snorkeling, get out to the reef.

Ilet de Caret is a magical place about to disappear in a few years due to the breaking of the coral barrier and the waves stealing away the perfectly white sand with each passing. The island is smaller each month and will soon cease to exist but another island is already forming someplace else. We took the one day trip... More

We went with a tour booked through Pierre & V Hotel I DO NOT recommend doing excursions through this Hotel as they do not tell you the truth about the trips We did 2 with them Both disappointing and not as advertised. As far as this little Island is concerned we saw other groups who put up Shade Cover and... More

We have been there many times and each time we come back to Guadeloupe we go back here!! A bit crowd in the weekend but a real paradise. Snorkelling is great and kids have fun too. Take apero in the water and you feel the magic.

Visited on the first excursion of a Cruise. The journey from Poit a Petre was interesting, passing along the mangroves of the Salty River between Basse Terre and Grand Terre. We then crossed open water to the island on our "fiesta" craft. The boat dropped anchor and we waded through waist high water to the shore. The only structures on... More

In all fairness there is not much to say about a 100 metre long strip of sand with vegetation at one end except that it is a good mooring after a trip through the mangroves in the bay outside Sainte Rose and only a short distance from the coral reef where everybody seems to go snorkeling. You have to go,... More
