Neighbourhood: Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.

Very good, but maybe too busy in weekend the evenings.
I'm sure worth a visit off peak and will likely return to find out.

Strolling around Odaiba on a rainy day we found Joypolis and spent all afternoon there. You can pay for specific attractions or for full day. There are some VR, arcarde, etc. there’s even a small roller coaster.

there was a girl crying from the VR ride haha it was so scary. the indoor rollercoaster is definitely the highlight. there's a ton to do but it does add up if you don't buy the day pass where you can just ride unlimited times, etc. so much stuff to do in that building too, food, shopping... leave all day! you can use it all there!

Is it an arcade shop? or a theme park? BOTH! Re-visit this place a year ago and feel like I'm back to my childhood, it's not the best theme park in Japan but if you like the futuristic theme, this is the place for you.

Lots of skill tester machines and amusement rides. Sonic Carnival needs separate coins but don't change too many as it only is for 3 games. Had some fun but its more for families.

Went Joypolis after relative recommended and loved the place. My daughter birthday falls on the day and she got a free passport, 300y voucher and a free token game. The staff are friendly and able to speak English which is an advantage to us. Lots of sitting area when you get tired. The building has shopping, restaurant and a open foot spa and it allowed to exit and he entry throughout the whole day. We had a great time at Joypolis.

The park is fully indoor and they allow re-entries on the day. The park is connected with a shopping centre for easy access between them and the station is located right in front of it. the place is a clean place with staff that mostly can speak good English.

You have several options for the entrance ticket. The staff in front of the ticket gate normally will explain it clearly. As for me, they offer me to take a look first, so I just bought the entrance ticket only. If you bring your passport, they will give you a discount too. When you want to upgrade your ticket into one day pass or just to buy rides ticket, you can use the machine inside the park. I don't think the rides will suitable for kids. Mostly for adults.
They do have arcades and my son (6yo) enjoy it. So, if you just want to try the arcades, maybe just buy the entrance only. I didn't plan to stay long there, but we end up stayed there for more than 3 hours.

Hi all, I am curious to know what is the waiting time for the rides? I see some reviews saying it takes 10min to wait for the rides but some reviews mentioned 30min wait. Is there a better day or time to go for lesser time spent on waiting for the rides?

Hi. I've been to Joypolis twice with my eight-year-old daughter. As I remember, we went on weekends (but not holidays). The waits were not that bad - yes, 10 mins at the least, 30 mins at the most. It really depends upon tourist traffic, whether locals have a holiday, etc. Generally speaking, it's always better to go during the week, and close to opening time.

Hi
Is there any weight restriction for the rides ? Do you think an overweight person would be able to do most of the ride ? Thanks

No restriction and yes, none of them are too intense that weight would affect the ride or the rider.
I would have some questions need your kind assistance
1. Passport Admission & Rides included Yen4,300, which rides is included ? Doesnt stated clearly at their website
2. By reading the post , Yen4300 doesnt include most of the rides? But i understand that zero Vantency VR need advance booking and extra payment
3. And what is the normal entrance ticket which we only pay for what we like to ride?
cgbtruck101

1. They aren't "rides" as much as they are games (save for the top floor) and you should have access to all of them (keyword being should).
2. I don't understand this question fully. The VR segment is its own area, thus that's why it may require supplemental payment; again, its a game, not a ride. It was closed when I went so it may still be now (doesn't matter).
3. Doesn't exist; you pay for a ticket that allows only a certain amount of "credits," to be used or you get the unlimited credit pass. If the former is what you're referring to, then that is a little over half the price of the full ticket. At least it was when I went.
Hi Richard , so means for the Zero Latency VR we have to pay extra even we Y4300 ticket? Thanks

So I'm not Richard, but I've been to Joypolis. You have to pay an admission fee to enter. And then you buy tickets to play the games (the games and shows are different prices). It ends up being an expensive. And they make you buy cards or tokens or something (I forget what exactly) to then use to play the games. They won't refund unused money (though you can spend it in the gift shop or food stall). My husband and I thought it would be a fun rainy day activity, but it really wasn't worth the cost.
