We were keen to have a go at curling after seeing it included in our rail trail itinerary. We got into Wedderburn cottages just in time for a quick change and to be collected for our session at Naseby. We were given an introduction by watching an informative video then taken onto the ice to have a go. We discovered... More

Ewan was so eager to share his passion and sport with us that we can't helped but become incredibly excited to curl ourselves. Oh man, I never thought that it would be so hard to get those stones where we wanted to on the playing field. We both loved it!

Well we had a quick lesson and then took each other on in an end or two! Surprisingly fun and energetic and a good break from riding the rail trail.

12 adults doing the Otago Rail Trail attended the Curling Centre at 4.30pm session. After instruction we took to the ice and had our own competition. Great fun over a 90 minute session. Good break from the ride before a local Naseby pub dinner. Everyone in the group enjoyed it and thought it was worth the $35 pp cost. Recommended.

Our visit to the curling was hugely enjoyable. We had no experience but they are set up for this, with a video to start, and then some oversight of our first efforts. Well suited to a group of 6-8, we were soon competing strongly, with lots of laughs. Everyone can confidently give it a go, and has a chance of... More

You have to take the opportunity to try everything you can while you are on the trail. We got a quick demonstration of the different techniques, and after a couple of rounds, we were curling like pros. (yeah right). It is one of those sports that is not as easy to master as they make it look on tv, but... More

Superb - pleased you enjoyed and yes easy to get in to it after a wee bit of a demo and help form staff. True - for all ages - and if you use the pole even easier ( don't even need to bend your knees!) More

Had a great few hours trying curling for the first time - the staff are very helpful giving us some training and then some pointers to improve our skills later on. Very encouraging staff meant we had a fantastic first curling experience. If you are in the area call in and give it a go and dress warm - it... More

Hi and thanks- yes our staff are very keen to assist and coach to ensure you have a great experience and enjoy the fun of game of curling. Rink is heated ! (to a tropical 6-9 degrees-warmer, later in the day!) but as yes say it is an ice sport so a warm layer or so is welcome! More

We loved our visit to the curling rink and the key to our experience was definitely Shona. This is the only Olympic grade curling rink in Australasia and it provides a total experience. From the time we arrived, Shona was a wonderful host and began by sitting us down to watch an orientation video - simple, clear and engaging. In... More

My sister and I had been here twice before but not actually curled as we had not made a reservation and the lanes were full. This time we booked in advance and the experience did not disappoint. Who knew what curling was? None of our party of 5, but as we cycled through Central Otago we heard more and more about this unique sport played when dams freeze over. That doesn't happen often, so we headed to Naseby's indoor curling rink and Cheryl, the owner, showed us the ropes. It was great for all ages and abilities.... More
