The church is quite large for a small town, has some paintings, and nice surroundings. It is not touristic and provides a feeling of visiting a church not polished for tourists but functioning for locals.

The church is not always open, so catching that open was a big deal for me! I was stayed a week in Caccamo, and it was only open twice that I know of. Take the time to study the artwork. If the door to the right of the alter is open, take the time to look in there. There are still some pictures that are more medieval than Byzantine, which I love to see.
