Every mile or so there is a pull off - some formal others gravel. You need to travel the road at different times of day and not in a rush. Early morning and late afternoon ensure the formations show their best colours. Mid day bleached...More

We visited the Badlands on the last leg of a two week vacation. The best way o can describe all of the beauty is "other worldly". We spent about e hours going through the loop, stopping at several overlooks. I noticed several of them were...More

We drove this in the late afternoon on a nice summer day and it was breathtaking. There are lots of turnouts and overlooks along the way for taking amazing photos. Later in the afternoon, the light was amazing and really brought out all the colors...More

We loved our visit to the Badlands. Take your time along the way. Each viewpoint is just breathtaking. We went in June and the grass was a vibrant green which was stunning against the backdrop of the rock formations. It is definitely worth the time....More

My family and I are touring national parks this summer. His was the first one we stopped at. Not as busy as the Grand Canyon. Many pull off places along the loop. Trails were fun for kids. Adventure without getting too far off the beaten...More

From start to finish the loop road through the Badlands was amazing. Excellent information given at the entrance gate, lots of wonderful lookouts every few miles and a very good visitors centre. So glad we did this as it is like nothing I have seen...More

The drive is absolutely gorgeous! The speed limit is pretty low because of all the curves, but that also allows you to take in the scenery. Each of the pullouts is different. Pick either the first or the third and the second and you'll have...More

Custer city is very close to the loop trail. You can go either direction. It takes about an hour.

We saw people with large RV’s on loop road. Road isn’t the problem but some parking areas (overlooks) maybe unsuitable
