Good workout with some up and down. When we visited in late April, there was some snow covering portions of the trail. The trail was clearly marked, although the park maps did not clearly outline this trail. Some of the signs intersected with other trails so it was a little confusing.

Yovimpa Point along with Rainbow Point, is one of two nice viewpoints situated at the southern end of the Scenic Drive (Highway 63). It is 17 miles south of the Visitor Centre located just as you enter Bryce Canyon National Park. Note: For those taking the scenic drive, it is recommended go straight through to Yovimpa and Rainbow Points and... More

The park road ends in the Rainbow Parking lot. The ranger made a point to let us know that Yovimpa Point is also accessible from this lot. I guess a lot of people overlook it so he is on a mission to move the sign so that more people will check it out. Yovimpa Point viewing area is a quick... More

You can get to Yovimpa Point by hiking the short, easy, shaded 0.8 mile round-trip Bristlecone Loop Trail. Yovimpa Point is the southernmost overlook in the park. Here is one of the places you can get a good look at the sequence of rock layers called Grand Staircase and the cliffs of Bryce.

Its a nice point, but looks the same as the more popular points. The rock coloring isn't as vibrant as the other points.

This provides a slightly different view of the surrounding terrain. Most views look mainly to the east. This allows you to see the area to the south. Just for a comparison. Not as spectacular, but nice.

This is a lovely high viewpoint near the end of the tarmac road in Bryce Canyon with good level accessibility for people with mobility difficulties or in a wheelchair, and the view is superb

After getting to Rainbow Point, just walk a little further to Yovimpa Point. From here you will be able to see for miles and miles out across the valley below and see the "end of the hoodoos". Its hard to say what the best view in the park is, but this is one of the best.

You feel like you are on top of the world at this lookout. You can see so far. We took the short walk off the lookout which allowed other views. You are at 9000 feet so you have to walk slower or be acclimated.
