This arch is not as attractive as the arches in the Arches National Park but has the big advantage of the spectacular location. Through this arch you can see a very beautiful panorama. To reach this arch it is necessary doing a short hike.

Mesa Arch is the famed sunrise shot of the southwest, but it's pretty any time of day or year you choose to visit. Getting the "best shot" of it at other times of day can be difficult, but rewarding.

This is one of the most photographed places in Canyonlands, and the sight is breathtaking. The arch itself is great (although you have a plethora of them in nearby Arches National Park), but the views of the canyon below are what make Mesa Arch remarkable....More

This is a relatively easy hike. There are a few up and down stairs. The walk is completely worth the hike. The view of the mountains through the arch is spectacular.

Well worth the short hike to see this natural arch. Just be patient to wait your turn for a photo opportunity.

Mesa Arch is a 0.5 mi/0.8 km roundtrip trail to an arch at the edge of the mesa. The trail is rated easy and should take about 30 min. There is a decent-sized parking lot at the trailhead. We did this trail around 11am on...More

From parking lot there is about a half mile east walk. You can then get an incredible view under the arch of the mountains, sky and valley.

If you are staying in Moab. I would leave at least 75 minutes before sunrise (depending on hotel location maybe even earlier) The scenery on the way in is spectacular even 20 minutes before sunrise! Better to get there early... More

The arch is in the national park. Anyone can drive into the park to see the arch. If you want the pictures at sunrise, get there early. People are there up to an hour before sunrise to get the closest spots.

Absolutely, visit Canyonlands. Most of the great views in the Island in the Sky are only steps away from your vehicle...no hiking necessary. Mesa Arch does require a short hike and you will have to go over a small hill... More
