We drove to the west entrance of Cathedral Valley on Hwy 72 north of Fremont. We experienced muddy roads winding through colorful orange/red aspens and beautiful views over the desert floor to the north. Entering Cathedral Valley from a high elevation was inspiring. We drove...More

The landscape changes so many times during this loop. It is incredible to see! We also enjoyed a picnic lunch along the way.

The roads were in good conditions, negotiable with most high clearance vehicles. The ford was not an issue: little water in the river.

A worthwhile side trip that will inspire you and renew your soul. The colors and structures are unique. Watch for teenagers that seem to love to race their new four wheel drive trucks through these side roads. Make sure your children are buckled up.
