Need something to do that doesn't require energy or overheating in Death Valley. Do this drive. It is not too long on a dirt road. Most cars can do it. The colors on the rocks are beautiful and you can see where they mined the...More

We saw a funny sign showing potential calamities on our way out of Death Valley, and decided to stop and take a picture. Little did we know this was the beginning of 20 Mule Team Canyon. It is a one way car only track. There...More

Provides a nice view inside a canyon especially if you don't want to do a hike. Doesn't take too long to go through. WARNING: I would not attmept this in anything too big or long. E.G., I saw some campers starting the drive. Not sure...More

This is a flat drive through low hills, and it's pretty twisty turny and narrow in places so I'm glad I wasn't driving an RV. The view of the hills up close was interesting but not a whole lot different from what we saw from...More

You drive through a series of smaller canyons up and down hills and fun curves. Not much of a view but you get to see the canyons from up close. No crowds!

Short but very sweet detour off the main road. Isolated, but spectacular scenery. Unlike anything I’ve ever done. Highly recommended!

This is a little out-of-the-way drive that's right off the main road into the Valley (contradiction, huh?). Well, it's out-of-the-way because I think not many people drive it. It was totally deserted when we drove it. The road winds around through a variety of little...More

Just that, a little loop trail that counts towards the I hike DVNP 2018 sticker. Kids enjoyed seeing the old wagons, especially toddlers who are in love with machinery now. Its a short loop and very easy trail with educational signs along the way.

It's all about the 20 Mule Team Borax era. Makes you very glad you didn't have to work there! A short stop but this is about man's footprint, not natures.

Love this short dirt road - twists and turns but probably ok for most cars. Lots of fun rock formations and great views. Another awesome place in Death Valley.

I’d say anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour if you make stops. We drove really slowly but never really stopped for an extended time and it probably took 30 minutes. Take lots and lots of water and make sure your vehicle... More
