The 2.4 mile dirt road to Darwin Falls trailhead is very bumpy and rough but still passable for standard sedans. The road is located about a mile west of Panamint Springs Resort on the left side, and is not marked. No restrooms available at the trailhead. The trail is one mile in, one mile out on the same path, not... More

Not a long hike, nothing technical, but a bit muddy, and climbing over a few rocks. Well worth seeing the little falls in the middle of the desert. A bit of drive over the pass from Death Valley, but stop by Mosaic Canyon on the way, that is great hike!!

Darwin Falls was our second favorite hike in Death Valley. Definitely worth the drive out to the West side of the park. The unpaved road to the trail head was passable my most sedans (a Honda Civic was in the parking lot!). Followed the stream bed up one mile to the falls. They are beautiful, and only the second place... More

Shortly after Panamint Springs Resort look for a dirt road going off to the left. A weathered sign designates Road to Darwin Falls. We had a high clearance vehicle but we didn't need it to get to the trail head, road was in good condition and ended in a small parking lot. No bathrooms at trail head. Continue down sandy... More

It's an unmarked hike near Panamint Springs area. Easy distance but last part of hike requires a little rock scrambling. First 1/3 of the hike is just walking towards the canyons. Next 1/3 you can hear the water and surroundings start becoming green in the midst of the desert. Last part is where a little elevation comes into picture ,... More

This was a beautiful falls. Not overly large but a wonderful surprise in the harsh desert climate. A 2 mile round trip hike, the first 1/2 mile is a hot, dry wash. But then you round a corner and enter a slot canyon with running water, willows and flowers. The temperature drops 15 degrees and the area is delightful. Well... More

Took a bumpy gravel road to get here--the gravel roads are not maintained well in DV. Walked up a wash in a beautiful canyon for about 2 miles to get to the stream. Then had any easy climb over some rocks to get to the falls. It was very pretty and worth the walk. It did not disappoint. After the... More

We were told we must not miss this and that is was the best spot in Death Valley etc. It is interesting as it feels like a true Oasis in the desert and the waterfall is pretty but if you have just come from Yosemite I don't think it is worth the detour. I found Death Valley itself much more... More

I found this in pinterest so made it our first stop in DV, I didn't believe we would actually find it as I thought it may have been a fake photo. A beautiful waterfall and lake in the middle of the hottest and driest desert on earth?! But it is absolutely there. We drove down the almost hidden track, parked... More

The long unpaved road to get to the trailhead was not ideal for our rented Hyundai Accent. Would recommend an SUV for the drive butt even the Hyundai made it without damage (slowly)! The hike itself was entirely flat and interesting. We did it at 9am and it was a reasonable temperature still, plus parts were shady/cool, so it was... More
