You have to go for a walk among the colored hills. I've seen the pictures of the Palette before, but nothing can prepare you for what you actually see. My favorite part of the Valley! Dress appropriately and take a hike, the experience is surreal.

We enjoyed seeing and taking photos of the Artist Pallette area of Death Valley National Park. The colors are so nice to see. There is an information sign as well.

One of the highlights of Artist's Drive. The pastel colors of the mountains here are a wonder of nature. Visit at sunset to see the changing colors.

Beautiful colors on the ancient rocks. Must see if you are visiting Death Valley. Must have car to get there. It is a detour of about three miles, on a loop road, on the way to Badwater.

Interesting place, go to the rocks but don't damage anything. When I was there in the afternoon there was no one there. nice drive there as well through nice scenery

Took the one way winding road to see this. It is a 9 mile drive. Interesting to see the different colors.

R2D2's arroyo trek is right here. We had stills from the movie with us and climbed the very small hill to look down, right where R2D2 went. Even without the Star Wars reference, it was an amazing sight!

The colors in real life are even more vibrant than in pictures so it was amazing to see in real life. It's cool to see all the different minerals in the rocks and the patterns they make. Other worldly!!

If you are looking for a great sunset, go to this place. Make sure you arrive early, so you can see the color of the rocks changing by the minute.

I am not sure why Artists Drive is closed, the road seemed perfect to me. You can pull off to the side of the main road and walk to the area......once there, walk up to the ridge, you can look all over the Palette from up... More
