Take the Tundra Wildness Tour here - it is definitely the BEST way to see the park, unless you want to ride (and can afford!) a helicopter. Our guide Sarah was knowledgeable, friendly, and wonderfully conversational about the park.

Beautiful area, long ride on a school bus (14 hours). Not as much wildlife as I thought there would be, but still awesome.

Road requires permit or must ride Park Service busses. Our Park Service rier was vey knowledgeable and had great anectdotes about the area.Driver also had highpowered video camera he used to allow us to view the wildlife on monitors inside the bus that were too far away to either photograph and see clearly. Used monitor pictures for myself as no telephoto... More

We took the 12 hour bus ride to Kantishna and we had a great bus driver, Anna. We saw caribou, moose, Dall sheep, and lots of brown bears and parts of Denali. What a great day!

The road demonstrates the vastness and dramatic landscape of this part of Alaska. We saw at least 3 bears, all at a long distance, and a few dozen caribou, some around 15 yards/ meters from the bus. The driver was knowledgeable and entertaining; he accommodated several requests to stop when passengers wanted to take photographs. As a result, the ride... More

We visited Denali 3 years ago and took this trip in the rain. I hoped this time would be different. How lucky we were. We took the NPS bus trip on an old school bus on September 2. We did the 8 hour trip to Eilson. I didn't think we could handle the longer trip. The bus stopped several times... More

I wrote a long review on another Denali Park site. Suffice it to say, YOU MUST go down the road, at Least to mile 62 at Mt Eilson. Even going to mile 15 is incredible. But you need good weather to see much (except wildlife which always shows up along the way!)

The road can be scary at times when passing another bus on the side of a cliff but the drivers are very experienced. The animal sightings and mountain views are amazing.

No trip to Alaska could be complete without traveling the Park Road in Denali. We took the 8 hour trip instead of the 12 hour trip. The buses are not luxury coaches. One did get "butt" weary by the end but it was so worth it. Our drive right/guide made it his personal mission to be sure we saw the... More

Don't understand how they made this incredible road through the mountains, and how they keep this packed gravel road in such good condition. The bus drivers are incredible. Such fun to watch for wildlife, see the incredible mountains and valleys, and thank .god for making such a beautiful place.
