We signed up for the tour that was to last 6-7 hours. You would think in September that this tour would start around 10-11AM to take advantage of the daylight. We found out the night before our tour that it would start at 2:20PM, which meant it would end in the dark. Genius. We were unlucky that it was cold,... More

We did the all day 11 + hour shuttle bus to Wonder Lake and loved it. Darlene was our driver and although they indicate that the shuttle buses are for transportation and if you want a narrated tour take a tour bus, our driver Darlene was wonderful. She shared so much valuable information about the park, the history, the geography... More

We have ridden the Green Shuttle bus into the park many times and every trip has been excellent and this was no exception. To be clear, this is a review about the green SHUTTLE bus and not a tour bus. This is important to note as this bus is a lot cheaper than the TOUR buses and both have to... More

Denali National Park is huge and is visited by several thousand visitors each year. I am happy that NPS has restricted automotive travel inside the park - but I think their partnership with Doyon/Aramark as sole concessioner is really not working out for the visitors. 1. For the peak travel times of the year, the visitors must purchase tickets months... More

We took this 7 hour bus ride and there were 8 of us and 4 of us were split up from our spouses which would have been fine but we were all forced to sit with strangers that took the window seats and were not willing to share the window scenery. Some window seats were taken by teenagers wanting to... More

We took an over 120 miles round trip bus tour on the Park Road where we saw grizzly bears, caribou, Dall sheep, Arctic ground squirrels, a Merlin Falcon and two golden eagles. The driver, Bryan Barrett, was simply an outstanding driver who was first safety conscious. Besides that important fact, he was extremely knowledgeable of the wildlife, geology, weather and... More

Something like $150 per adult (not the problem); the Park, or Park Road (not the problem); the driver, although I felt she rambled too much and was a distraction from the scenery (not the problem); the other, mostly adult guests (not the problem). The problem? Putting them all together on a cramped, fully occupied long school bus (that was designed... More

Peter was a great tour guide. He clearly loves what he is doing and was very informative about the park and provided interesting stories. The buses are old school buses that are not very comfortable for an 8 hour tour. Our bus had no mud flaps and on the drizzly day we toured the windows got blocked by mud. Peter... More

Our confirmation for the bus pickup clearly states pickup at 6:00 at the Denali Bluffs Hotel. We stood in the cold for 45 minutes before calling where we learned that the bus schedule had changed to 8:10. The representative told us that we should have called to confirm the schedule 2 days before arrival. This requirement is not clear in... More

We were in Denali as part of a Cruise/Land trip. The long bus trip into Denali was recommended by our guide. Not sure if they have done it themselves....It was long. Our guide on the trip was pleasant, but not talkative. On a 6+ hour tour you need a talkative guide. The weather did not help as it was rainy,... More
