The short film was okay, as was speaking with the ranger at the counter, but more interesting were the large exhibits on the Park's history, flora and fauna. Also, there was a very nice bookstore/gift shop located down the hill between the main building and...More

After visiting other visitor centers, I had high expectations for this one. It was not very special. There were some basic displays but nothing unique. You can pick up reading material, ask questions, and view an 18 minute video, but that is about it. The...More

The Denali National Park Visitor Center contains a number of interesting exhibits that highlight the geology, animals, history, and terrain of the park and Denali peak itself. They require about 30 minutes to cover reasonably. The highlight of the center is a 22 minute film...More

We watched the video and walked the little nature museum. We like the fine touch. Very helpful info is available. We also connect the dog show bus from here. Guests should stop here no matter

We watched the free short film which was very well-done. I also went through the visitor's center and was pleasantly surprised by how much is inside there—it's like a mini museum! Go downstairs to see the mini exhibits they have. Lots of information about the...More

They try to entice you to go here, when you arrive in the park. But in reality, it's just a small gift shop with a very limited selection of items. Definitely worth skipping.

Had a great time and lots to see at the visitor center. Our 8 year old became a junior ranger! She was given a book with activities to do and they were fun for all to do with her. They even had a little ceremony...More

We didn't spend a lot of time at the visitor center, but felt it was a good place to stop and get information, use the restroom, and view the displays. There was also a bookstore and it's not far from the Alaska railroad depot. From...More

You can take any of the NPS buses from the Wilderness Access Center (WAC) to whichever stop along the route you would like and enjoy a day hike, assuming you have a ticket as some of the buses sell out. The cost depends on... More
