We went there in the late, late Spring. Expected a bit of a breeze but there was none. There were tons of mosquitoes there and all were biting us. Visitor Center open but unmanned. Hoped to see a croc but only saw some sea birds.

Nice drive in from Miami, wonderful views of the everglades. Many hidden lakes with alligators and crocodiles. Saw glad eagles, owls and manatees. Great camping and boating there as well. Highly recommend for family vacation.
