Rustic, quiet car camping. Somewhat rough, dirt road to get there. Small campground that fills up quickly. A labor of love for the aging camp host, Lyle. Each site has been carefully laid out and grounds tediously taken care of over the many years that...More

We had quite a few days in GNP and deliberately took a day to explore Bowman and Kintla Lakes. We are very glad we did. While we were hoping for a break from the smoke from the fires, we actually ended up near another fire...More

Visited here during recent wildfires and the lake was shrouded in smoke. Suggest visiting earlier in the season when the fire risk is lower. No food or drink available so bring your own. Also, it's a quiet and isolated spot. Be "Bear Aware" you are...More

One of the hidden secrets of Glacier Park. Out to the way and secluded but beautiful. This are has different personalities depending on the season.

I had read the reviews about the rough road to Kintla and was concerned about taking our rental car up there, but we were looking for somewhere off the beaten path to scout for wildlife after an early dinner in Polebridge, so we decided to...More

I took a day trip to this lake and it was stunning. The mosquitoes were bad but with some bug spray they were manageable.

If you like bears that look like they cant decide who to eat , go to Kintla. Horrifying experience, I cant believe anyone would bring children here. Otherwise nice views, no fish worth mention. Very primitive and if anything happens oh my gosh you are...More

Went up here on the first day we were in Glacier. The drive was rough so make sure you car is in good shape for it. Beautiful lake and nice and relaxing. Not a lot of people.

I'm not going to say much about the breathtaking beauty of this place because just like everything in GNP, it's stunning. But I want to dispel a few myths on this page. I suppose the definition of "terrible" when it comes to roads is subjective...More
