I was here on what started as a cloudy day. It was so nice to see the change take place over a couple of hours as the view became so clear and even more breathtaking. Take it slow, pull over to let others pass you,...More

This is the main road through the park. So you can see everything via traveling this road, it is very beautiful. The only problem is, and its not the problem with the road but the park, is its closed until July 1st or around there,...More

Part of the road was still closed in early June 2017. But we drove up as far as we could and made plenty of stops along the way and then back. The rivers and mountains and trails and flowers... they are all just extraordinarily beautiful....More

Absolutely wonderful scenery a bit scary in places though. Parked at Logan's Pass and walked to summit. Still ice and snow late June. Drove on to St Mary's Lake. Spectacular.

My wife and I drove in both sides of the park, the road was not open all the way through so we went up on the west end and then drove around to the east. Spectacular views!

While we could only part way we made frequent stops. If you love taking pictures like I do, you will get so many great shots. The water is so clear that the snow capped mountains reflect beautifully in the water.

We so enjoyed riding on the Going to the Sun Road in our 1939 renovated red Ford/ White Truck. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and kind. Great experience to ride in the truck and take the tour.

I've driven the Going To The Sun Road many times over the years. Many places are narrow, and one wants to drive carefully. The edge of the road is steep and a long ways to the bottom. Scenery is breath taking, and if you look...More

I absolutely loved this drive. The only sad thing was that it was not open all of the way due to the amount of snow they still had on the mountains. This is a must do while at Glacier NP

It all depends on the amount of snow. Check the park website.

Is it better for me who fears steep drop offs to go East to West or West to East

Both are pretty scary but you get used to it in the climb. It's something you just can't miss. It's #1 on my "Do it list"
