One of the two superhighways into the Canyon, the other being the Bright Angel Trail, this path runs along a ridge offering stunning views. During the summer, visitors are advised to bring at least two quarts of water along because it can get very hot and the trail offers no shade.

Beautiful; highly recommended. NO water other than the water in YOUR pack. So bring plenty of water with you; no way to get more water until you are all the way down or all the way up to the trail head.

My family of five aged 9-43 did this hike down to the ooh aah point sign. Mile down and a mile back up. Took the orange shuttle to the trail head. Went around 9:30 or 10:00. Part of the trail was in the shade. Make...More

The weather was unpredictable but well worth it for the view! Our kids wanted to hike but we weren't prepared so we only walked down a little bit then explored up top. Water and bathroom facilities up top.

Unbelievable says it all. My wife, two teenage daughters and I hiked down the 1.4 miles to Cedar Ridge. So glad we did it. It took us 2.5 hours for the round trip hike. Going down wasn't bad, causing a little fatigue on the thighs....More

This trail goes down a ridge that extends up from the canyon walls. This means there are numerous vast views of the canyon. The Bright Angel trail is in a gully resulted from erosion, which means the "ooh-aah" views are less frequent - especially infrequent...More

You definitely could do the hike down and back. I'm alot older than you - and mother of 7, so don't hesitate to do this adventure. The Grand Canyon charges $30 at its entrance for the park fee - it is good for 7 days. The... More
