Like all of the viewpoints they're busy even when we've visited in winter but if you've time take a walk along the rim trail and you've a chance to get away from the crowds.

We enjoyed this short walk out to a scenic view point over the North Rim. It only takes about 20 minutes and anyone can do it. There are some steep drop offs but it is still a very mild hike.

My friend and I decided to take a mule ride down and back up from Bright Angel Point. If you are adventurus I highly recommend it. About ten or twelve of us followed our mule skinner down the narrow winding trail for about four hours....More

At Bright Angel point you can take a donkey and actually go down to the bottom of the canyon, not for the faint hearted. There is a gift shop with a fabulous viewing area with a pay point telescope for that extra bit of view!

We did an early morning 6 mile hike starting from here. Great views winding down the mountain. Really worth making it all the way down. Get an early start and avoid crowds on way back. Rest stops along the way and a well managed trail.

Gusty winds creates fear at times. The canons are very deep and tempt you to jump over - so be careful ! The location is suitable for meditation as it provides tranquility to heart and mind.

The first part of the trail is not that steep. There is water and restrooms at the 1.5 mile mark. The views of the canyon walls are amazing as you descend

Absolutely yes. Have done it often. Use 89 one way and 89a the other. Should allow you 3 hrs of time on the rim. Might snack at lodge at Bright Angel, get view and food to save time.
