OMG!

If you don't get here and think you've died and gone to Heaven, then you are immune to nature. This is spectacular!

While staying at the Grand Canyon we took the advice of our Tour Director and rode the red shuttle to Maricopa Point. We had already hiked the rim from Mather Point to the Village, so we wanted to hike back to the Village from Maricopa Point to complete our own hiking loop. The views from Maricopa to the Village were... More

Part of the fun of experiencing the Grand Canyon is being able to the this wonder of nature from different vantage points... this one will not let you down... I keep using words as AWESOME, INCREDIBLE and NOT TO BE MISSED! In reality, there are no words to describe the Grand Canyon well.... the shuttle system of the park really... More

A rim hike worth the effort! A moderate uphill walk on a paved path brings you to a beautiful vista.

There was a park ranger out here and we had a great informational conversation with him about California Condors. He was great- a wealth of information and very friendly. We did not ever see one, but we sure did look!

This viewing point is a short walk from the bus transfer station. The walk is up hill but you get some nice views as you walk to it, there are also some seats along the way. It is not far from lodging there as well so you can stay over and spend time exploring the rim trail. I would suggest... More

Maricopa Point is one of 8 view points along Hermit Road, which is accessed via free shuttle buses from March 1 to November 30 or you can bike it, or the Rim Trail which you can hike or bike. It is the third view point along Hermit Road. Its claim to distinction is the view of the Orphan Mine, a... More

We did most of the south rim trail and found Maricopa point to have the best views on the rim. The red line toward hermit point will get you there, don't miss this stop!
