The forest is beautiful. We live about an hour from here, so it is a nice little retreat into the woods, without being totally in the middle of nowhere. It gets cold at night in the fall, but it wasn't bad. There are lots of...More

Like the surrounding area, the section that is the Targhee National Forest is also really beautiful. A lot of great pullouts, some trailheads, and camping. The Snake River comes through here and it's truly stunning.

We passed thru the National Forest going from Yellowstone to Jackson Hole. Its a nice peaceful place to drive and to stop. There are a few small villages along the road which looked good too.

Do you know of any interesting laces to lodge in this area? We're driving from Salt Lake to Jackson and are looking for something unique, like teepees or glamping to stay in? I saw a conestoga wagon resort in southern Utah and we are looking for something like that. Thank you!
