There are may turn outs on this loop, and it is worthwhile to stop at every one, because in the Grand Tetons, when you have seen one mountain, you have NOT seen them all. Take your time and enjoy the breathtaking views, the wildflowers, the...More

We'd been to Yellowstone and we'd been to Glacier on this vacation, but wanted to also take in a day at Grand Teton National Park on our way back to Iowa. We'd done some research and tried to do an overview of "10 Things to...More

The views are spectacular everywhere you look. I love the sunsets over the mountains. The speed limit is 35-45mph in most places. There are many pullouts to take in the views. We saw deer, elk, moose, antelope, and bears. There did seem to be a...More

Everyone raves about Yellowstone, but we found the true jewel to be Grand Teton National Park. It's stunningly beautiful without the crushing crowds. The scenic route will allow you to see all the best spots Just follow it around and stop at the pull-offs that...More

Grand Teton National Park is a must-do if you're doing Yellowstone - and I daresay I liked the Tetons even better. The majestic, omnipresent snow-capped mountains and alpine lakes are simply breathtaking. Plus, it's less crowded. Start early (before 7:00 a.m.). We wanted to do...More

We couldn't do 42 mile loop in one day. Reason is when you get to a location you most likely would have to hike to see it. Taggert lake is beautiful but to see it you have to hike to it. Shortest route is a...More

I was stunned at the ginormous beauty of the park. The look allows stops. Read a guide book in advance, follow Trip Advisor tips and start your day early ( I can't emphasize this enough). Get good foot wear. I saw people struggle with too...More

We had almost a full day to see Grand Teton park (of course we would have loved to have more!), and the loop drive made for a beautiful overview of the area. We still had our GyPSy Guide app (we purchased for both Yellowstone and...More

If time permits, I recommend driving through the Grand Tetons. Lots & lots of turnouts for photo ops. If going south, the road into Jackson was very busy. Expect slowdowns.

If you cannot hike this drive gives you a great view of Grand Teton. We feel it is better to hike trails but the views from the pullouts are amazing.

Our family of 7 went the 1st week of June. Many U.S. schools are still in session. We did not come across many elementary aged kids & families. There were still plenty of people but probably not peak crowds. The snow... More

The elevation of nearby Jackson, Wyoming is about 6,300 feet above sea level. Jenny Lake which is on the loop is about 7,000 feet. And the lake is adjacent to the Grand Tetons. I figure as long as you do not drive up... More

There's at least a couple of points to enter into the loop, which, then become just that...a loop. We had a map, but I cannot over-emphasize the value that the Gypsy Guide app had on our enjoyment of the drive. I saw a... More
