A family with people of different ages and different fitness levels can hike this PAVED trail, spend some time enjoying the falls, and hike back down within an hour and a half. (Don't let the term "PAVED" fool you, the trail is often uneven and one should still watch their step.) The path is often not wide enough for the... More

My family and I are not a huge hiking family......so the trip to Laurel Falls was perfect for us. It is not an overly hard hike, just enough to get your blood pumping. The falls are beautiful!!! ***me and my teenage girls hiked down some steep rocks at the base of the falls and got some amazing photos.......just be careful

The trail is perfect for beginners. It's 1.3 miles from the parking lot area to the falls. The view you get while you hike is amazing! The trail is paved but it's very inconsistent. I wouldn't recommend to bring kids because the trail isn't as wide and if unsupervised they may fall.

the hike was a little longer than we expected as we were pushing our one year old in a stroller but it was definitely worth it! it was so beautiful! would not recommend a stroller as we ended up carrying the stroller with our baby in it for a good bit of the hike but would recommend a baby carrier!... This was my first experience hiking so it was a little challenging for me because it is mostly uphill the whole way up to the falls but on the way down was much easier. It was 1.4 miles each way so not too bad. My husband, 8 and 10 yr olds had no problems. The kids loved the experience. The... More

I have been wanting to hike to Laurel Falls for a few years. Both my aunts hike here often since they live in Tennessee. Once we began planning our Smoky trip this was added to the must list. We encouraged another friend to join us in the hike to Laurel Falls. Being that it was August and extremely humid we... More

This is a great falls to visit. Very beautiful. This is a nice hike up and back. The payoff is worth it and the surrounding forest is amazing. We would definitely recommend.

1.3 miles from the car parking area, so not so far. Easy forest path, going by rivers, and rhodedendron-lined pathways. The challenging part is the steep descent (and ascent back up!) to the Falls itself. We were there at a time when the river was in full flow, so got the impressive sight of the Falls crashing down.
