We completed the hike to the grotto and back to the visitor center in less than 4 hours. The trail is well marked. There are a few places where you have to cross water but there are stones to walk across. Make sure to visit...More

After hiking to the top of Guadalupe Peak, this hike was relaxing and easy. We stopped and enjoyed the front porch of the Pratt Cabin. There are wonderful rockers there to sit back and take in the historical premises. If you are so inclined, there...More

After hiking Devil's Hall and Guadalupe Peak in the days before, this trail was just what we needed. The trail is easy to negotiate and well maintained. There are several parts where you cross the riverbed and pick up the trail on the other side....More

Carlsbad Caverns was the real destination but we spent more time in the Guadalupe Park and this trail is a jewel. The thought of someone building a stone home in this canyon years ago is daunting. The arid landscape grew on us during our 2...More

I felt like this hike allowed a good overview of Guadalupe Mountains National Park. It took me, at 62 and in pretty good shape, most of the afternoon. The temperatures changed a lot during the hike, so I was glad that I had layered clothing...More

This is an excellent hike--the scenery is beautiful and the trail is great. It's awesome to descend from the rim of the canyon and make your way down into the canyon. The landscape changes, but everything stays stunningly beautiful. The hike itself is not difficult...More

This is an interesting hike along a well-marked trail. You hike in the canyon along a spring-fed stream. The walnut, Texas madrone, and sugar maple trees along with Douglas fir and ponderosa pine make for an amazing display of red, orange, rust yellow and green...More

For the first 2 hours, you are in the canyon, a valley, very flat. Then the trail moves upward into the mountain range and the view gets great. Just do it!
