This but one of many excellent day hikes handy to the National Park Inn at Longmire. They can all be enjoyed from the Inn without contributing to the impact of backpacking.

The climb is steep and so me of the trail is Sandy and slippery. But the view of the waterfall is awesome. You can take this hike a bit further and enjoy either Mildred point and/or Van Trump hikes, which are challenging. But also lovely.
