We were extremely disappointed when we couldn't get to Rialto Beach as planned due to road construction but Second Beach really saved the day! Afterwards, we went to First Beach but Second beach was the high-point of our day. The trail was a little challenging...More

We didn't get to spend as much time here as I hope (it hailed twice the day we went here), so I didn't get to explore as much as I'd like, but it was a beautiful short hike to an equally beautiful beach.

We were trying to pack a lot in a few days on our recent visit to Pacific Northwest from the east coast. Debated whether we had time for visiting the coast in Washington but were glad we made time to do the Second Beach Trail....More

A great find! Limited parking at the trailhead but understandably has overflow parking nearby. There is basic portable toilets at the trailhead. A straightforward undulating 1 mile walk on a good, well-demarcated path through the beautiful wood. Relatively steep inclines at either end, with steps...More

We saw gray whales just off the beach. A lot of steps to get to the beach. Good beach for walking. Good place for the sunset.

Nice 15-20 minutes hike through green and lush rain forest leads you to the beautiful Second Beach. If possible, try to get there during low tide, tide pools open up another world which makes the beach so much more exciting. Without tide pools, it is...More

Unless you are adept at up and down hiking the trail can be a bit of a challenge. The deadfall is downright dangerous. Unlike Ruby and Rialto beaches there is about 30 yards or dense deadfall with no path. Anyone with balance issues will need...More
