Nice and slow. No oncoming traffic

Wonderful slow drive. Beat way to get to the top. Make sure and stop at the falls and signs well in advance , parking is a premium and no turning around.

We took this road up to the visitor center, it's a one way gravel road with very sharp cutbacks and very bad ruts in the road. In our opinion the views from Trail Ridge road are better. We did stop and do a couple of hikes along the way which was very nice. So if you're wanting to do one... More

A must see if you are in the area. Along with seeing the elk in "rut", the scenery was breathtaking and a bit scary in places if you are not accustomed to very steep drops.

This road was closed for the season, but we stopped at Endovalley Picnic area. It is one of our favorite places in the park. It is quiet and has a river running through the picnic area. It is the perfect place to rest and listen to nature.

This one-way road we took when heading back after the day on the east side of the park. There were so many people that Saturday, which made the usual highway full of traffic going west. We took a chance and went this route to see if it was open (as it was closed the week before from snow). Well, we... More

We did this drive 3 times during our stay. The scenery is beautiful but the road is not for the faint hearted! Very steep, single track (it's a one way road so no oncoming traffic), with sheer drops to the sides. Well worth it!

Th views were great and we enjoyed the Alpine Visitors Center, but we will never take this road again. It is a deeply rutted dirt road with severe switchbacks and you are near the edge most of the time. Several drivers dangerously drove well above the speed limit. Once we made it to the Alpine Visitors Center we were treated... More

Fall River road is a fun way to see the fall leaves. It takes you through some great aspens and on up into the high tundra at the visitor's center at the top of Trail Ridge Road. You need a car with some clearance and patience behind the wheel. It is slow going, but worth the trip. Check for closure,... More

We loved this old road, but be warned it is a dirt road with some extreme switchbacks. We drove it in a 21 foot full-ton pickup and I had to use reverse to get around some of the hairpin turns. No big deal and the payout was great views once you get up to the ridge line. I can't remember... More

A stunning road or take in September as the aspens turn golden. Dirt road is easily navigated, all wheel drive helps in steep inclines. No shelf roads. It our reward is the alpine visitors center where you can see the road you just navigated and refresh with some snacks!
