We did the flat path around the Lake. I took about and hour at a slow pace. There is a stocked trout pond in the beginning of the walk. While we were there we saw two elk at a distance of about 60 feet. Great...More

Sprague lake is ideal for those that just want a short hike with little elevation gain. The trail is handicap accessible, level and even. The early morning would be ideal, this is when moose can be seen in the lake. In the afternoon fly fisherman...More

This is a very accessible loop around a lake with stunning views on the mountains. It takes maybe twenty minutes.

We took the free shuttle from Park and Ride and got off near the stables. After a short walk to the lake, we continued to stroll on the trail along the lake. With the backdrop of Rockies, the lake was serene, reflecting the evening sunlight....More

On our way to visit Bear Lake, my son and I stopped here first. Although the scenery is perhaps less impressive than at Bear Lake (but only slightly so), we saw lots of wildlife here, mostly elk, who are seemingly unafraid of humans, and a...More

The lake is quite pretty, but not the "take you breath away" beauty we were expecting. Trail is easy and handicap accessible. Takes less than half an hour to navigate.

This was a great stop given that Bear Lake was still snowed in in April. Just a little snow at Sprague Lake and hardly anyone there. So awesome. What a great vacation place the Spragues had back in the day. You can imagine. Found an...More

March is the coldest/snowiest month for Denver, as we learned when we went last March 2018. And coming from a tropical country, this was alright for us :-) The lake was frozen over so we didn't bother trying the pathway (we had just come from...More
