On a day when every man & several dogs decided to visit the RMNP we stopped and leisurely walked around the partially ice & snow covered Sprague Lake. A cool spot & walk , open to all levels & a peaceful interlude, just remember the crowds can get huge !! The View back over the Lake looking at the 'Tall... More

Absolutely beautiful and breathtaking lake surrounded by mountains. The lake has a trail around it, which offers best views of the Rocky mountains. The time we visited was perfect since there was snow on the mountains and the park was warm. The mountains reflection falls on the lakes providing you with a stunning view. Not to miss this place for... More

The trail around this lake is flat and is 1/2 mile long. A great little hike for all ages. The mountain views on the back side of the lake are awesome. It is a great hike in any season.

This is a beautiful, flat, short walk around the lake. It cross a small stream where you can see fish in crystal clear water. In the background are peaks of 11,000 to 14,000 feet that is a bit snow- capped in October. It's just a beautiful, relaxing spot with an interesting history. I highly recommend this little walk.

•My partner and I visited Sprague Lake during our recent trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. •It was the first lake we visited that day (and it ended up being our favorite). We arrived at about 8:30 AM on a Friday morning. There was plenty of parking available right at the trail head when we visited. At that time /... More

We went there early morning. It felt calm and serene. The lake is beautiful and views are magnificent. The walk around the lake is easy. It is so close to the trailhead. This is not as popular as the other lakes but its beauty is worth seeing.

Sprague Lake is 8688 ft above sea level, yet because the trail around the lake is very flat it is an easy walk for anyone to do.The trail also can accommodate wheelchairs.

Nice lake with easy access and great views. The lake has a decent size parking lot, and a flat trail around the lake. Good place to take the kids, have them look for trout in the stream feeding the lake.

One of a few sights without hiking required. Spectacular views to be seen as you walk around the lake (0.6 mile). Short boardwalk on one side.

We had a stroller and two small children and they had no problem with this. The loop is 3/4 mile around the lake. It is quick access off the parking lot. When you cross over the little bridge, look into the water and see some fish! This has beautiful views all around the lake with snowy mountain top backdrops on... More
