If visiting multi-national parks on a western vacation, you really should hike this short trail as it is unlike any other you are likely to encounter. Seeing the tundra from Trail Ridge Road is great, but walking among it on this trail is even better....More

The starting point is one of the pull offs on Trail Ridge Road so it's easy to find. Walk is steep but not overly difficult. We managed to push strollers ups it because it is paved. Neat to read about the tundra ecosystem on the...More

Rare and delicate tundra habitat. Rapidly changing weather--bring a jacket even on a sunny day. Walk up the path slowly if you are coming from sea-level to 12,000 ft altitude. Visited this summer. A bit crowded. The park attendants or Police as their badge says...More

I really liked hiking up this trail but if you are a flat lander make sure you take it slow. There are some great views at the top that makes the huff and puff to the top for this flat lander worth it.

Its windy and cold, but well worth the climb to the top. I am in shape so it wasn't that difficult for me to climb to the top, but others were having to stop. You have to stay on the path for certain parts of...More

Trail ridge road is a great drive. You can see so much of the park from the convenience of your vehicle. But, you have to get out and experience the park. At high elevation, above the tree line, the alpine tundra environment is amazing. There...More

Rock Cut is at the high point of Trail Ridge Road, so the views are already great. However, the stroll along the paved trails provides vistas above the road giving one a perspective of where they have been driving from and to. This trail definitely...More
