We really enjoyed this easy walk around Bear Lake. It is probably ADA accessible. The views were very nice, and it's just a short distance from the Estes Park entrance.

We've been to Bear Lake three times now. The first when our children were toddlers, to the latest when they were teenagers and we have enjoyed it every time. While not a very big area ( I would say under an hour to walk all...More

The Rocky Mountain Nat'l Forest is a gem and Bear Lake is a nice, easy hike in the middle. Gorgeous and easy drive through some of the most spectacular scenery you'll find anywhere.

Lakes are always treasures for photographers. But, you have to get there early and set up ...then wait. Yes, it will be cold, but worth it. There are wonderful photo-ops all around the lake.

The walk around Bear Lake is very easy. It is crowded but what do you expect on a trail that all physical abilities can complete. We arrived at 8 and were able to find a parking spot.

The lake is pretty but way over crowded. There's no sense of solitude and it doesn't really represent the high idle time away. I would urge anyone who wants to have experience to take a few hours and drive north to the medicine and she...More

We only took two trails in the National Park and Bear Lake was very easy. The trail loops around the lake and is a good option for families with small children or those who are not interested in a high altitude hike. Beautiful, as you...More

Depending on when you plan to visit, the closest campgrounds in Rocky Mountain National Park are Glacier Basin and Moraine Park. Aspenglen would be another option in RMNP. Do a Google Search for RMNP campgrounds and you... More

In case another person sees this, the trail around Bear Lake had about 60 inches of snow on the ground on March 16. That amount of accumulated snow is normal in winter and early spring. Sneakers are NOT adequate because... More

HI, I'm pretty sure dogs are not allowed on trails in RMNP. I thought I read that somewhere before our trip. And, I didn't see anything about swimming at Bear Lake.
