Good spot to stop and look

In our ordinary day to day life we never get to experience of grandeur and majesty of nature. Here you have the chance to pull over, stop and take it all in.

Such a magnificent vista! Anyone in the Great Sequoia National Park would be so foolish to miss this! We lived it. Such a brilliant place to get those wow factor photos to show those folks at home! But to me, it's not about the pictures, it's the serenity that goes with the beauty and the sense of wonder and awe... More

This is a relatively short drive up to Park Ridge from the Grant Grove headquarters area. The road there is half the fun, switchbacking past beautiful meadows filled with flowers. There's a parking area at the top and a pretty steep little trail from there. Once you're at the top the view of the Sierra Nevada high country and Kings... More

Driving along the General's Highway between Giant Forest in Sequoia and General Sherman at the edge of Kings Canyon National Park, there are a number of nice stops or activities. Camping at Lodgepole, Dorst, or Stoney Creek Campgrounds, Horseback riding at Stoney Creek, several smaller groves of redwoods... and, near the northern end of the 35 miles, the Panoramic Point,... We were pretty sure, by the time we found our way here, that the park service is not actively advertising this great spot, but the view made the effort worthwhile. And you will have to walk a short distance uphill to appreciate the magnificent view of the Sierras to the east, but it's worth the effort. Signs at the top... More

Up the road behind the Grant Grove Visitors Center, a steep hill to wonderful Panoramic Views and picnic tables. Not a hike for the faint of heart.

All should stop for a few pictures along the Kind Canyon bypass to the roads end. One of a dozen places to stop and enjoy.

A really fantastic view point with a few nice paths to walk along if you fancy a walk. Or if you are just here for the view, its not far to walk at all from the car park.

You must travel up a narrow but not nauseating road. Then walk alittle upward trail to a fantastic view. Loved it.
