Loved Mary's Rock Overlook! See the photo! The weather was perfect for a hike this day and we wanted to hike the entire 9 mile trail but ran short on time. Some spots of the trail can be rocky and steep but overall it is...More

Hiking in winter to the top of a mountain ridge is only for the diehards. You'll experience first hand how brutally cold it can be on a sunny day. It was about 11 degrees and when we got to Mary's Rock the wind chill made...More

Pack a lunch and make the 3.7 round trip climb. At the top--you'll have a wonderful view of the valley as well as where you entered the park. Bring bug spray and water. The terrain may be a little tough (steep inclines, rocks, tree branches)...More

Enjoyed this hike. Slightly steep elevation change. View from the top was worth the climb. Moderately difficult.

Is it necessary to make the scramble up the rocks to the top at the end in order to have a good view? If you do scramble to the top, do you come down at the same place you go up?
