The 2.5 mike walk up To reach Angels Landing might detour some from doing it, but if you are on the fence, and healthy enough to make the up the mountain trek once you reach the top you will see that it is totally worth...More

Thanks to the National Park Service for keeping such a hike open. The trail maintenance and chains for the last .5 mi make a somewhat strenuous hike much more manageable. Even if you think you won't be comfortable with heights, you can still get a...More

Angel's Landing is one of the most famous trails in the U.S., so any avid hiker who can get to Zion National Park will have this trail at the top of his or her list. It is a tough climb and when you get to...More

Angel's Landing is reached via a 2.25 mile trail that takes you 1,500 feet above the Zion Canyon floor. The first half is a paved/smooth dirt trail with an endless series of steeply sloping switchbacks that is pretty rigorous at this high altitude, even on...More

We were going to wait until our second day to hike Angels Landing and ease into it but found out the trail would be closed for a week for repairs so we jumped in the first day. This is quite a hike and not for...More

As a hike I'd say this is moderately strenuous, but the real tough part about this hike is the exposure that most people aren't used to. For the last half mile you'll straddle a thin spine of rock with sights thousands of feet to the...More

No but certainly helpful until you get to the chains. Then they are in the way.
