It was an awesome trail to hike. We brought kids 10 and 7 to this trail. When we planned the hike, we were not sure whether the trail was too scary to take kids, because some parts of the trail was not fenced. It WAS...More

My family of 5 (14,12,12) decided to do this hike to start our stay at Zion Canyon despite some reviews that the hike is hard/scary. Let me start by saying some of the trail is narrow but nothing on this hike is hard/scary and I'm...More

Went on this hike as we were leaving Zion on our way to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Trail has only a 200' elevation rise at the beginning. Trail clings to the cliff walls, passing under several rock overhands. Some of the trail...More

If you only take one hike in this beautiful National Park, this is the one to take. It is only a mile to the end of the trail where you turn around to come back to the parking lot. There are some ups and downs,...More

The start of this trail is just before the second tunnel and it comes upon you very quickly. There is very limited parking so park further up the road and walk down - it's worth it. An interesting trail culminating in a great view.

Early morning is probably the best time for this hike if you want to take photos. The overlook at the end of the trail faces west, so you are staring right into the sun in the late afternoon. I'm sure the sunsets are lovely, but...More

First, parking is very limited near this trail. Second there are some very narrow sections, difficult footing, if you have young children with you - heads up! On this trail we saw a group of seven desert mountain bighorn sheep across a ravine. Nice look!...More

Short hike to the best views of Zion! Limited parking - just after you cross from tunnel (leaving Zion). Good restrooms.

Really enjoyed this hike! It's a very mild hike, gorgeous scenery along the way, and offers some very dramatic views...with the best view being at the end! I enjoyed the view for about an hour, and just absorbed everything. Enjoy!

We found ourselves in the park over Memorial Day weekend and it was crazy busy. As an alternative to getting a parking spot and on the shuttle we drove through the tunnel to try the overlook hike. It was perfect! There are so few family-friendly...More

Just to clarify what might have been already answered - there is no access to this trail for visitors during the summer months unless they are lodge guests and have their cars inside the park? I was excited about doing this at sunrise and getting there with the first park shuttle...thanks!

How is canyon overlook trail condition now? We are planning to be there on Jan 17th. Is there a lit if ice and snow on the road? Bringing two kids, 6 and 9 respectively. Don't know if they can make it. Thanks.
