Nice beach with clear see and some good snorkeling spots. There is some shadow under coco trees, but there is some waste too.
There is small food truck (baguete, juice, watter), but is was open just once during my 3 visitis. There are no opening hours.

Pretty beach with good shade and a bar. The bar is pricy and has limited selection. The beach is nice with shade. There's snorkeling along the rocks on the right. We saw squid and various fish.

There are actually two different Petite Anse beaches reviewed here. One is in Bouillante and the other is about half an hour north of that in between the towns of Pointe Noir and Deshaies. It is about a mile south of the small town of Ferry and Plage Leroux. Its confusing because TA only has one listing so people are reviewing the one they visited. I visited the one near Ferry, but I drove past the one near Bouillante. The one near Ferry has smooth sand and the little white juice/ice cream shack that you see in some of the pictures. The pictures of a lot of big rocks is the other Petite Anse in Bouillante.
Anyway, Pettite Anse near Ferry is fantastic if you like to snorkel right from the beach. Start on the left side as you face the water. The coral and rock formations were very interesting. I saw tons of long skinny needle fish which I thought were really cool. Place Leroux just down the road is a bigger beach, also good for snorkeling, but I liked the snorkeling here better.
This beach is a great find. I would definitely go back.

We headed towards Deshaies as we had heard it was a hot spot for snorkeling on Basse-Terre. We started at Plage de la Perle and were disappointed; possibly the sea was too rough. As we came down the coast we almost missed the sign for Petite Anse, but came back around to give the area one more chance. WHAT A SPOT. It's a quiet little cove, not packed like Grand Anse or the other beaches attracting those who just want to lay in the sun. As we entered the water, we stayed left along the southern edge of the cove and were so enthralled we ended up far beyond the edge of the cove. Best diversity of sea life my husband says he's seen in all the Caribbean! We chased two young sea turtles for a bit, and we were determined to find a sea horse out there (no such luck, let us know if you find one though-it seems ideal!), but overall just mesmerized with the beauty and diversity. Check it out, worth the drive from anywhere.

Aesthetically, this place is amazing. For a snorkeling beginner, it would be terrific - there are plenty of fish and there was little perceptible current on the right side along the rocks. Also on that side, the quality of the coral increases the farther you get from the beach. Although I was tempted to go past a little point where the rocks jut out, I wasn’t sure about what the current would be like and decided to play it safe. The left side had nothing to look at until I was at a risky point (again, a point where I would have been forsaking the safety of the bay and possibly exposing myself to much stronger currents). However, for an experienced and well-traveled snorkeler, this place would likely be considered mediocre.
Google Maps may direct you to a beach of the same name that is south of the beach I have described. If you want to visit the beach I have described, you must visit the one about seven kilometers south of Deshaies.
Next, the parking situation is tricky. There is room for about 15 to 20 cars if you make the turn and go down the hill. I did, and I ended up parking in a giant mud puddle and had to spend about an hour cleaning mud out of my rental car when I returned to my apartment. Also, if you park down the hill, when you leave you will experience a nerve-wracking departure - it requires you to turn from a very steep grade (my front tires slipped, and I saw it happen to one other driver) onto the N2 highway completely blind to cars traveling south if people are parked on the west side of the highway (and they likely will be) and with very little visibility of cars traveling north because they are coming around a corner. The other option is to park at the top of the hill on the west side of the N2 and walk down, and I would recommend doing that. Finally there is a little restaurant adjacent to the beach. The clean restroom is for customers only - buy a couple of drinks and dry off a bit.

It has shade, sand, parking room on a weekday, restaurants, a decent crowd, bathrooms. I would give it a 5 but the water was too rough for snorkling the day I was there.

I loved this beach! Not much shade, so bring you own. There were some pebbles when you first go in, bring water shoes. The water was calm and no surf. There are a few drink and snack bars on the beach handy for having a planters punch.

I am referring to “Petite Anse” a beach with lots of rocks south of Bouillante near Habitation Massieux. A little restaurant called “Chez Chantal is at this beach. The parking is used to dump trash and a sign by the major from May 2019 states that the beach is closed for swimming due to bacterial pollution of the water. On Sunday nights there is live drum music and you can get cold beer at the bar. Nice for a sundowner but that’s it. A pity.

Small beach in the middle of Guadeloupe west coast--not worth a special trip but good if you're in the area. Small bar next to it with slow service.

This delightful little beach was a delightful way to spend an afternoon of snorkeling, sunbathing and enjoying surprisingly good food and drink by the sea. Definitely recommend!

Venez visiter la Guadeloupe, Il y a plus de terrains plats qu'en Martinique et moins cher. Des Zac tranquilles proche des plages, style Domaine de Nogent, certains pavillons sont Ă vendre. C'est l'occasion qui fait le larron !
