I went here twice, with one day of good weather and the other poor. If it's sunny (at least not raining), there were many cats walking around. For poor weather, it's hard to see a cat. The transport to this place is very convenient that...More

The places was included in our tour to Shifen. There were a few cats walking around the place. We spent most of the time inside a shop where they sell the lucky cats.

Houston train station is just one stop away from Ruifang main station. There is a lovely bridge connecting the train station to the Cat Village where you'll find cats walking around or lying relaxingly along the narrow paths. There're several nice cafes mostly with cats...More

Well, if you are extremely crazy about cats, make a stop here. Otherwise, would suggest that you spend time elsewhere. There were fewer cats than expected, and if you imagined cats weaving between your feet, be prepared to be disappointed. You may buy cat food...More

I must say that my visit to Houtong Cat village was a little disappointing given the treatment of some of the cats and animals. As an animal lover - especially that of the feline kind, I can't help but notice some cats that are not...More

Maybe it was slightly rainy, but i was expecting a lot more cats. I've seen more cats in random towns across Asia. Small village and its main selling point would be cats. Just wish there were more of them. There's a little coal mine trip...More

Hi deliriou5, most of the shops are opened by the residents and if there aren't any big local festive occasions or holidays, I suppose they will be opened everyday. The village is actually very small and most shops are... More
