There are several ferries that go to Ometepe, we caught one at 11:00 am in San Jose and the ride takes about an hr. If you rent the car in Managua you could take it in the ferry with you, but you don’t really need a car in... More

I am so sorry for the delay I hope I didn't miss you! If you hike volcano maderas you are in the JUNGLE. It doesn't get more up close and authentic than that!
