The castle is well seen from the surroundings since it is located in the highest part of the countrieside. You can walk to the castle or you can take the lift. We walked only down and it was quite a long walk since you first come to the village and than you have to return to the parking place. In... More

With 35 other people behind me, we took the lift up to the castle and let everyone loose for a few hours. What a joy! There was so much to explore and discover with excellent interpretation boards and a true feeling of what it was like to live in the times of it's making. There is a restaurant which is... More

We noticed the from the lookout tower in Kétvölgy, Hungary, and decided, we have to see it... it took an hour to get there. We arrived late afternoon, close to closing time, and fortunately could pay by credit card. We couldn't enter the castle itself, but only the walking up with the beautifull wineyards around did worth the journey. You... More

Riegersburg castle is majestically located in the highest part of the small town of Riegersburg. We went there for a walk after we visited the Zotter chocolate factory in the morning (I highly recommend this combination). The town is very quite (especially on the weekend) and there weren't many tourists. The hill to the castle is not that steep, but... More

Very nice and also in very good shape castle. Quite a lot to see here, so good shoes will be appreciated, many curiosities from the past but it's pity as they all are in deutsch, so for no-deutsch speaking people it could be pretty boring. You can get up to the castle either by cable car or by foot. If... More

I been visiting this castle at least 3 times....Great views on a sunny day...And a steep walk to the top you can relax with a typical austrian food and a drink...There is also a lift if you are in a hurry but you liked it more after walking...

Beautiful place to explore, small and quaint. If you climb check out the route here. The surrounding are lovely and great place to enjoy the medieval feel. The restaurant has a lot to offer.

The Riegersburg castle is located in a beautiful area of eastern Styria, not far away from Graz. The castle offers a very interesting exhibition on witches in the Middle Ages and fabulous views of the surrounding valleys and hills. The castle itself seems to be fallen out of a fairytale, with its location on a former volcano - not to... More
