I went in July 2015. Had a great time with two friends. The food was great and they had options for veg, gluten free, lactose free, etc... 25$ for the picnic included dessert and homemade lemonade, tray and blanket to take outside. It was a colder July, but still nice. Dressed up for for (toque and such because it was... More

The walk to the Lighthouse is interesting, but when you get there! Jaw dropping beautiful rough cliffs and the vast ocean. Pick yourself a spot sheltered from the wind and enjoy this wonderful picnic lunch while taking in the breathtaking views. The lunch is so very "yummy" everything is made there on site. You can pick up blankets if you... More

We happened to visit on a foggy and rainy day, but it was so worth it. You must drive on this narrow dirt road to the parking lot. Once there you will take a pleasant stroll about 10 minutes to the lighthouse. We took great pictures on the path as we were the only one's there and had direct view... More

We had this on our to do list - but even a couple of months in advance couldn't get a reservation as they were all booked out. Having looked at the photos and write-ups we decided that we would make the trek from St John's down to Ferryland and just visit the lighthouse even if we were unable to join... More

Perfect day, blue skies, white clouds, spouting whales, gourmet food. Make sure you reserve your picnic months ahead, if you do not have a reservation you cannot get a picnic lunch. After your hike to the Lighthouse you have a choice of sandwich and dessert. You are given an open wicker basket with your lunch, a waterproof on one side... More

Love the idea and the execution on this . Climb to the lighthouse and order a picnic lunch served in a basket with mason jar glasses for drinks and take your picnic lunch wherever you wish and nosh and dream the afternoon away

We thought this would be a fun experience. It would have been nice if they had let us know that the paved narrow one way, no turn around road, would lead into a gravelled, narrow heavily potholed, full of water, no turn around road leading eventually to a potholed parking lot. Since we were driving a rental car, we were... More

Just returned from a wonderful first-time trip to Newfoundland, but I had to write this review ASAP. How does this idea pop into someone's head to reward hungry hikers with first-class picnic fare? We hiked in - it's about 1km one-way - and up the steep hill sat the lighthouse. We learned that reservations were preferred, but they could accommodate... More

You must drive carefully along a narrow gravel road, then park in a grassy meadow, then walk 25 minutes on a gravel trail. If you have supportive sneakers or hiking shoes, you will be fine. There is a small downhill part and two small inclines before you get to the lighthouse. It is worth the walk as the vistas are... More
