We were scheduled to go on an olive oil tour, but our driver picked us up too early and there was a lot of confusion. The owner Matteo suggested we go to the village of bevanga for a tour and return in an hour. There we had a very nice tour on our own. After we returned back to the place Matteo explained the olive oil process in about 20mins. He struggled with English but with Google translate he did the best he could answering our questions.
I believe the most important part of this tour was the lunch they served. Pork vegetables bread oil oil lentils dessert and wine. At that time we were able to sample the products they sell. Lunch was excellent. After that we did purchase some products both olive oil, soap and beauty products. My wife is very happy with the face and eye cream. Matteo was very nice a young girl from Saigon spoke perfect English and was also very nice she explained all the food we were eating. There was plenty. In all tour was ok lunch was great and products very good.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch with typical Umbrian food, newly pressed olive oil and local wine. Simonetta was very welcoming and explained the dishes and recipes. This is our second time here and it never fails to deliver good food, wine and olive oil.

We stopped at Antico Frantoio Nunzi, a smallish family run business after returning from a wine tasting in the area. Our landlady on the farm where we stayed (see Let's cook in Umbria) recommended both visits - one for the wine tasting and the other for olive oil. I am not a big fan of tasting olive oil in its natural state, preferring to taste it in pasta and salads etc. However I was so bowled over by the fresh, fruity and smooth taste of this particular oil, that we brought back a litre with us. (This says a lot, as I normally bring back only very special whiskies!). The visit to the olive oil presses was just as interesting and informative, from the old style mechanical presses (I love good engineering) to the new electronic press process, Matteo explained everything in a beautiful italian accent ... oh and by the way, for the young ladies, he is just as suave and good looking as his name suggests! The is easily the best olive oil I have tasted and is highly recommended! This "green gold" is reasonably priced for what you get and I would highly recommend a visit if you can fit it into your schedule.

We stopped at Antico Frantoio Nunzi at the last minute after a wine tour. The olive oil tour was recommended to us and as we had an hour to spare we made a small detour. What a brilliant experience. We had a tour of the new cold press process and equipment and also got to see how olive oil was processed back in the day. Both were very interesting and I learned that they use the whole olive, including the pip so no waste. The olive oil is fabulous and very reasonably priced considering the long and expensive process to extract this "green gold". I would highly recommend a stop to try and buy this lovely olive oil.

My wife and I visited Antico Frantoio Nunzi in mid April 2019 and what a truly wonderful experience it was. This was one of the stops that our tour guide for the day had taken us on and we loved every second. A family owned and operated Extra Virgin Olive Oil manufacturing site that truly embraces every little detail to give their customers the very best. Despite not being in production during our stay, the owners took us for a 45 minute tour through their plant showing us the manufacturing process using their new state of the art equipment as well as their old antique process still in place, but not used for the past 10 years. After the tour, we were taken to a separate building where they showed us the proper way to taste Olive Oil, then provided us with a true Italian Feast that could have fed us for days, with wine and their delicious hand made Olive Oil. Their hospitality was second to none. We would recommend this to everyone.

When we visited Antico Frantoio Nunzi it was olive harvest season. Although the weather didn't permit us to pick from the trees, we did see neighboring residents bringing their own olives for processing. The owner explained the machine process and how they use everything including the pits ground up for bio fuel. We had a tasting in their beautiful party room and purchased some oil to bring home. Great day!

We wanted to learn about the process to produce extra virgin olive oil so visited this traditional place on the hills of Bevagna that has belong to the family for several generations. We were really impress by the hospitality of its owners and the delicious tasting of the oil in a very abundant lunch made with products cultivated right there. We loved all of them. The best lentils, tomatoes bruschetta, aubergines, local cheeses and ham, sausages......
This was an unforgettable experience that gave us the opportunity to share our time with this family that opened the doors of their home to us.
