I understand the significance, meaning and the intent that Anilore Banon is trying to convey with this sculpture, based upon reading the signage that is located adjacent. However, to me it just seems a little over the top and out of place for what should...More

Great Memorials here on Omaha beach. Our tour group started out early that day, a few miles down from the memorial, but further down on Omaha beach. There the tide was out hundreds of yards, when we arrived here at the memorial, just a couple...More

Not a big fan of modern art but this sculpture made a lot of sense when you read the artists description. Anilore Banon wanted 3 ideas to comprise his work, Wings of Hope, Rise, Freedom and Wings of Fraternity and when you view this when...More

This is an impressive modern memorial sculpture dedicated to the Americans who fought to liberate France.

Located in the sand on the beach, this very modern piece sits comfortably in the heritage of the events that it commemorates.

More than beautiful monument dedicated to those who fought to liberate Europe! Reflecting sea sand sky, hope and dreams and gratitude.

Really pretty (clean) beach. Definitely has a sense of significance. Very easy parking and free toilets. Unsure whether the beach could be used for 'playing' with the kids or not.
