I was recommended by a staff at Nusa Dua Conrad where I have been staying. At first I couldn't even catch the pronunciation of the restaurant. But since the restaurant needs a reservation, I am pretty sure there must be a reason why. I tried Bumbu Bali 1 yesterday and I had beef curry and it was yummilicious !!! Then... More

This was one of our top experiences in Bali and it was also the best food we ate for the 2 weeks we were in Bali. The cooking was interesting, well explained, professional and fun. The venue was very clean, well set up and well staffed. The people were friendly, knowledgeable, experienced and worked together like clockwork. We learned a... More

Morning pick up and interesting tour of the markets and description of ingredients before breakfast and the 'masterclass'. It was a great day and really interesting, my only slight reservation was that I expected to do more of the cooking myself and I thought we would be more 'hands-on'. Nevertheless loved it!

Put this on the top of list of must do's in Bali. You will not be disappointed. Very educational, well run and a great day. From market visit, to fish market, to cooking school and finish up with an amazing lunch to eat. This class has it all. Heinz is very passionate about food and Bali and this shows throughout... We have had the pleasure of dining at Bumbu Bali twice in one holiday stay. We love the ambiance, the food and the graciousness of the staff. They never disappoint! If not already booked up, they also offer transportation from the Nusa Dua hotel area which is also a bonus.

We were lucky to be able to attend the cooking school of the Bumbu Bali restaurant. The cooking class starts at 6 am with a visit to the local vegetable and meat market followed by a visit to the fish market, where we were instructed into the local spices and foods of Bali, while the restaurant goes about purchasing some... A 06-00 start was well worth the effort, a visit to the markets with the Chef Heinz von Holzen who showed and explained local produce followed by the fish market at Jimbaran then back to the Rumah Bali for an excellent breakfast. During the market visits and over breakfast many useful cooking techniques were explained, some in a serious way... More

In this place I have experience the true of Bali. The food, the hospitality, and the atmosphere. The staff are very nice, they offer us to taste sipping for food that we like to eat, but we ended up with satay - serves with rice and lontong, vegetables (urap), and non-skin non fat chicken satay. Very tempting
