A purpose built hide for viewing the feeding of the Red Kites . The hide has some wooden benches to sit on and standing room with a shelf to rest a camera on . We feed at 3.00PM SUMMER and then 2.00PM when the clocks change the end of OCTOBER. You need to be inside the hides before feeding time , If you arrive after feeding time you may not be allowed into the hides because this disturbs the people already inside and waiting. NOISE must be kept to a minimum so that the Red Kites are not scared away Children must be taken out if making too much noise . Remember these birds are wild and we have no control on how many will turn up or how soon they will dive in for the food . Every day is different and also weather dependant etc etc CAFE IS CLOSED , PLEASE EAT, DRINK ETC ON ROUTE WELL BEHAVED DOGS WELCOME must be on a lead. REMEMBER YOU MUST BE IN THE HIDE BEFORE FEEDING SO YOU WILL NOT BE TURNED AWAY . THEY ARE COMPLETELY WILD AND WE CANNOT PREDICT HOW SOON THEY WILL COME IN TO FEED .

We were traveling from the North-West to South Wales and decided to drive through central Wales and stop off at the Red Kite Feeding Station. We are really glad we did. There are some rather run-down hides facing a field and every day at 2pm GMT or 3pm BST meat from a bucket is lobbed around the field. This prompts... More

Basic hides but the kites come quite close and great for viewing them in action. We went in the middle of the summer and there was still standing room in the hides!

This was an amazing experience, owners so helpful as well. Being an OAP it cost me £3 and being an amateur photographer I was in my element. You have to visit to see it for real, the kites were everywhere, circling overhead for an hour before the food came out and when it came out is was an unbelievable sight.... More

Fantastic experience, will go again when we're back in the area, the couple that run it are very helpful and friendly and seeing so many birds feeding at such close quarters is simply mind blowing, trying to take photos was interesting as there's so many birds and they're so fast :D

Fantastic birds in a beautiful location. The people who run it are wonderful. Low cost but... professional cameras clicking on constant spoilt the occasion. The hide and surrounding buildings need some repairs and love. But for £4 it's good enough. Some volunteers maybe to give it a make over or charge the professional photographers more to cover repairs.

A lovely few hours spent at the red kite feeding centre. Well worth the £4 entrance fee (for adults) to see dozens of red kites at close quarters.
