The hill is steep but there are stairs all the way to the top and a few places to rest along the way. Bring water and go early or late in the day, it is really hot in midday. The views are very good and from the top you can look down into the city and cruise port. Good shoes... More

We drove to the hooliberg which was easy to find without a sat nav.Good parking. Be aware there are approx 650 concrete steps to navigate.Take your time.Be aware of the hornets. At the top there is a large mobile phone mast and dishes so I do not recommend staying there for more than a few minutes. Great views though and... More

Make sure you climb Hooiberg in the afternoon, when the concrete stairs are in the shade, and the sun is on the other side. At the top, you will find some nondescript utility buildings and antennas, and an amazing view of the entire island and the Caribbean all around. Did you know that Hooiberg consists of a unique type of... More

It took us 15mins to get up the 642 steps, it was tough but worth it! We went there around 9am. Some people told us not to go between 9am and 3pm because of the sun but it went well. It was definitely a work out, we felt it on our legs the next day. Once on top we had... More

My wife and our 2 teen age daughters took the challenge to climb the 662 step to the top of the volcanic formation. It took us a little over 20 minutes including a few stops to catch our breath. The views are impressive and we were lucky to climb on a relatively clear day. You can pretty much get a... More

You will see this the tallest point in Aruba when your cruise ship docks. Hooiberg is 550ft tall and is you decide to climb is 647 steps. There are quite a few less energetic tours around Aruba so suggest that unless you are really keen the tourist spots around town would suffice.

The highest point in Aruba and easy to see from several points on the island. Very scenic and worth checking out for fantastic views and picture opportunities.

Climb the steps to an overall view of the island. See the hotel area from there. But also dirrection to the other side. And the sea around the island. Bring some water to quench your thirst in the hot sun, but please don't litter.
