Really enjoyed this fort and setting. Beautiful beach right there for a picnic if you like. Hardly anyone there- practically had the place to ourselves. Brings history to life. Got there by taxi, then pleasant walk into St. George's. if you only have time for one fort, see the dock lands for sure, but if you've already been there you... More

Fort St Catherine is a very interesting place to visit. There are detailed explanations throughout the exhibits. As you walk through the curved ceiling passageways, you will see all the old supply rooms that housed the ammunition and guns for the protection of the Island. The highlight for myself was the fantastic view from the top of the Fort. Well... More

This Fort on the northeast point of the island is quite a fascinating place to visit. They have done a very thorough job with providing detailed explanations throughout the exhibits and it would be engaging to all types of visitors. You walk through passageways with curved-brick ceilings, passing through the various rooms that housed the supplies for protecting the island... More

This might be a better area to snorkel -- gotta check next time. In March, this beach cleaner and no glass.

It looks a lot like the fort at the National Museum of Bermuda at the Dockyard…the displays inside are similar. There is a modest entry fee. There is a restroom inside. Regardless, the views from the fort’s ramparts are great. If you like sea glass, look along St. Catherine’s Beach, it has a tendency to collect well-worn glass.

As I understand, this is the only fort left in Bermuda that is manned and kept updated with displays. It's also the only fort you will need to pay to get in, but it was well worth the $6 (IIRC) to get in. There is extensive signage and props to help you understand what went on and at what time... We enjoyed walking around the fort and seeing the museum. Hint, take the bus to the last stop and then walk down to the fort, an easy walk. Do the reverse when you are done. The fort offers lots of history and artifacts.

Walked from St George, bit of a climb but not too bad, then down passed beautiful empty beaches (but it was out of season). The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. The fort itself is full of interesting information, enough to keep you well informed but not so much as to reach historic "overload". The ammunition stores with... More

We walked up the hill from downtown St. George and explored the fort. What we enjoyed most, was the beautiful little beach at the base of the fort. We were two of five people there and it was a nice place to relax and read. Not touristy at all... gorgeous sandy beach with the fort as a backdrop.

Highly recommended, relaxing, educational tour from St. George's Town Square, Cut Road with view of the beach. Horse tours by Bronco Stables.
