A worthwhile visit if you're interested in how rum is made. The tour begins with your guide relaying the story about sugar cane and how the concept of rum originated. There is a tasting, where 5 different time are offered so ensure who is going to be the designated driver before you book! Once that's done, you're taken into the... More

You can't come to Barbados without a tour of the Mount Gay Rum Factory or Heritage Park. I actually make a point of coming to the rum factory every time I visit for the tour. The tour price is reasonably priced and you can drink unlimited amounts of rum for free. After the tour you can browse thru the gift... More

This was more than I expected in terms of the education I got about rum and the generosity of the staff in offering us sample after sample of rums. The Plantation house was kinda creepy, knowing that we were walking through a place where time seemed to have stood still.. The house paints a very real picture of the history... More

Fabulous! A great way to meet people from all over the world while having fun mixing and enjoying drinks. The tour of the oldest rum factory is amazing since it is still in full operation

Went on a trip to the rum factory. Started off with a rum punch, then a talk about the history of rum making and Mount Gay Rum Factory. We then watched a video about rum making and then sampled(quite big samples) of 3 different rums - all nice in their different ways. We then toured the bottling and distribution plant... More

This is interesting if you need a little time away from the beach, but I would not make any special efforts to get here.

This is misleading as this is not a rum factory as the rum is distilled elsewhere. A bit disappointing when comparing to a visit to a Scottish/Irish distillery. This is a distribution point where visitors can taste some of the Mount Gay rum and have lunch.
