My sister and I went sailing with on a small sail boat with a local Barbadian named Art. He is stationed at Sandy Beach. We loved the sailing -Art gave us a few lessons and the boat can fit about 4 people -you can sail for one hour or half-hour whatever you like. We sailed to Dover Beach- had a... More

Caught the local bus here. The Eastern/Southern end of the beach has very shallow water and you can wade out a long way. Wonderful for small children or fun to play in with older ones. Saw Green Turtles feeding on the sea grass here. Visibility not great due to all the sand kicked up but very natural and peaceful.

... more like swimmng wth turds. All last week it was high tide and the lagoon was quite rough. Few were in the water. But there were two serious issues: 1/ seaweed covered turds floating down from the sewage outlets of the nearby St. Lawrence Gap hotels, bars and condos, and 2/ idiot jet-ski drivers speeding through the lagoon where... Beautiful sand beach close to Palm Garden Hotel, with lots of beachside restaurants and pubs nearby featuring Happy Hour with good prices. Fantastic sunsets over the beach. Well worth a visit.

We were staying at the yellow bird, so Worthing Beach was our local beach. We visited many beaches over our 2 visits here, and I was so glad this was the beach we came home too at the end of the day. Easy swimming, snorkeling and lots of turtle sightings. Loungers for rent and 4 banks beers for $5.

There are big turtles feeding on the grasses below the calm water. Great for young kids! The east end is called "Sandy Beach" by the locals.

Note: I traveled here in January, 2014 Like Miami Beach, Worthing is a lovely beach with fantastic sand. Like Accra Beach, there is quite a bit of swimming area, in terms of how far out you go, though the beach is still not the size of Accra, in terms of length and expanse. It is right next to St. Lawrence... More

The east end of the beach is the quietest, ('sandy beach') with very shallow water for 100m or so out to a little reef easily wadable and with quieter seas. We spotted half a dozen large sea turtles snorkelling here - they have a different spot along the beach each day. More fun than an organised excursion as we were... More

This was our favorite beach not that we had found any bad one in Barbados. It had powder sand and the reef kept the surf down and was a great place to snorkel.

The sand here is pure white and the sea is very shallow so you can walk quite a distance with the water just coming up to the waist. Chairs and umbrellas are available at 20 dollars per day, the beach does get crowded but well worth a visit
