Bonaire is known for two things so when we had to stop diving in order to fly out, we went to Lac Bay to try windsurfing. The bay is warm and shallow, with a steady wind blowing (helpfully for beginners) towards shore. Lots of fun....More

The beautiful white sands are dotted with relaxing beach beds some under shade close to the Beach Bar and the water. The warm turquoise waters are so amazing to swim in. There is a massage hut near by that also provides Mani's & Pedi's. Indulge...More

Amazing place to windsurf. Hard to return home where the wind has left for the summer. Flat, shallow, beautiful water with plenty of consistent wind makes it a windsurfing utopia.

Greeted by a small family of wild donkeys, the entrance to Lac Bay welcomes you to another world, a world of windsurfing, wading in the blue water, and escaping the busyness of the rest of the island.

Long trip at a very bumpy road but worth the visit. A slow down beach, nice look at the mangrove as well as the bay. Snorkeling is worthwhile.. we saw a beautiful big old sea turtle..

As stated by the previous responses it is a 10-12 min cab ride from the cruise ship terminal. There are cabs waiting as you disembark with drivers who are most helpful and you can either make arrangements for the same cab... More
I am wondering if this place is far from where the cruise ships dock and if we can just cab it there instead of booking a tour through the cruise line?

Contemplating visiting Lac Bay and snorkeling at the reef, but am worried about the annoyance of windsurfers. Am I constantly going to have to fight against windsurfers or worry about being run over by them when snorkeling at the reef?
