The history and significance of BoP makes this a must see location. We swam and the water was delightful. The changing facilities were typically Cuban but hey that's Cuba. Our guide provided the background and history which was invaluable. The pool was worth a look...More

This place is a piece of history. It's an important part of Cuban and American history so it's worth a stop. It's also a great place for scuba diving and snorkeling! The beach is not very good but the water is warm and clear. We...More

The museum at Playa Giron is worth a detour. It gives reasonable insight into the CIA led invasion thru a series of photos and decommisoned weaponry. There is a Cadeca opposite.

The Bay of Pigs is a stretch of water about 20km long between Playa Larga and Playa Giron on the southern coast of central Cuba. Famous for being the landing point for CIA backed militia sent to topple Fidel Castro in 1961. Once witness to...More

Has anyone heard of the dive company CubaDivingNow. We are looking at booking dives with them at Bay of Pigs, but I can't find the company on TripAdvisor. They do have their own website though.

Is it worth the stop to snorkel? What about with children ages 5 and 7 (With life jackets, their own gear, and previous experience snorkeling)? How many hours should we plan on being here before continuing to Cienfuegos?

Definitely good for children also. The water is so clear anyone can do it. It depends how far away you want to go but I would say two hours is sufficient. You don't need much time for the fish cave either as it has really... More
