Old Havana is a visual treat of wonderful examples of different architctural styles built over the centuries and in the styles of her occuppiers. Unfortunately, many of the buildings have deteriorated to a point where restoration will become prohibitive unless it becomes a top priority very soon. Am glad to have visited and strolled the streets before these great buildings... More

Old Havana is a very nice place to visit with its colonial architecture and its beautiful places. It is a open air museum of cars of the 50s. It is worth spending an entire day walking in old Havana and taking a tour to the cemetery and the places a little further off.

Cuba is truly what you make it. I am happy I had the opportunity to visit with 15 other women. We stayed in an AirBnB. The people are very welcoming. I felt safe. There is a lot of walking too. I can't wait to return.

Old Havana:- Is old but not nearly as old as Europe etc. We walked through here both with a guide and on ourselves. Both excursions were quite different. The guide took us to areas where reconstruction had taken place. On our own we saw the old town at it's true self. There is still a lot of work to be... More

Spent 3 days in Havana a couple of weeks ago with my partner and our 7 year old son. Really loved wandering around old Havana - especially at night where music drifted out from nearly every establishment. Even though there is a lot of poverty the people are lovely and so friendly and we felt safe at all times (even... More

We had a private tour around Havana which included the old town. It was very interesting, and sad at the same time, as there is so much poverty and delapidation evident. Enjoyed what it had to offer though and generally the people are all super friendly.

Wouldn't have missed this. All a bit run down but added to the atmosphere. Some areas went from very nice to very tatty in a few yards. Quite expensive which was a surprise. A couple of restaurant scans on fixed price menus and the free or very cheap mojito were the worst I'd ever had.

It is a shame more of these haven't been rehabbed. Eventually they will be, but in the meantime many are literally collapsing.

We were warned that Old Havana would seem less authentic due to the influx of tourists and the infrastructure designed to cater to them. That's not a totally invalid perspective, but we found charm in Old Havana....and if you want authenticity, it's a short walk away in Central Havana, where it is much more difficult to find a restaurant or...
